heeled sandals - dressed up & dressed down

Delicate heeled sandals are a must have this season.  With all the fun options to choose from it's hard to pick one that will work best in my closet.  I've had my eyes on these from Sole Society and think I may pull the trigger in June!
Part of what I think about when choosing the best option for me is how well it will work within my closet.  You don't want to have to buy a whole new wardrobe for one pair of shoes!  I like to have the option to wear the shoe casually and dressed up.  The dressy, heeled sandal is perfect for that.

First I paired them with a t-shirt and boyfriend jeans.  Simple accessories keep this look casual, while the heels give that girly pop of edge.   I kept most everything in this look neutral to offset the heels.

Second I paired them with an adorable sleeveless shift.  Add a silk scarf, bangles and straw clutch you can't go wrong!

my 90's roots

All of the neon that is back in brings me back to my 90's roots.  My mom pointed it out this weekend.  I failed to believe it, but she's right!   If you follow me on instagram you know that I did a little Old Navy haul last Friday.  This top was one of my "outside of the box" purchases.  Not necessarily something I needed, but I know I'll wear the hell out of it this summer.  The neon with the nude is the perfect blend of pop with grounding.

Have you tried to (re)incorporate neon?

eyelet

As the temperatures slowly climb into a tolerable range I'm finding that I can really wear a lot of my pieces that are truly "spring".    We usually skip right from winter into summer here, which is a tragedy because spring and fall are my favorite seasons!
I wore this little frock to my girlfriend's wedding a few weekends ago.  I loved dressing it up for a formal event, but I also love it casual for work!

Hope you all enjoyed your long weekend - I sure did!  Spent a lot of time with my family, did a little lot of shopping and got a little sun.

Now that summer is mostly here - anybody doing anything fun?  We're having a big party at my parents new house this weekend - I'm stoked and praying for dry sunny weather!

currently obsessed

Whether its a tote size, satchel, or cross body I'm obsessed with colorful and neutral handbags for summer.

I rounded up a few of my favorites below.  We went and bought my mom a designer bag this weekend as a late birthday/Mother's Day gift and now I have the itch for a new bag.   I'm loooooooovvvvving the mint tote and polka dot one!  (squeal!)

What do you have on your arm?

happy memorial day!

A few things I'm obsessed with lately include this low bun.  Typically when I swoop my hair into a bun I tend to do the Mulan bun on the top of my head.   I do this so that I get that weird look of "what is on the top of your head".   Kidding, but I do get those looks.

other current obsessions include but are not limited to: family gatherings (der), trying to redesign the blog (anyone else have extreme difficulty with blogger uploading images, etc? or am I just lacking in brain power here?), old navy hauls (seriously, they have some damn cool stuff in there), miranda lambert, gold jewelry, and gigantic tote bags.

what are your current obsessions?

3 looks for Memorial Day weekend!

Sifting through all of your spring clothes to find the perfect picnic attire?  No fear, I've rounded up three looks for you for this coming holiday weekend.   We are all a little different, aren't we ladies?  Some of us like to be relaxed on the weekends and holidays.  Others enjoy playing dress up 7 days a week.  I hope I covered nearly everyone here!

Look #1 is for my classic chic women.  She's comfortable in her skin and is ready for some lawn games.  Her tote bag is probably full of her kindle, sunscreen and essentials.

Look #2 is for the collegiate crowd.  Or, those just exiting college.  You're looking to appear a little more sophisticated, but not too much.  You need to show the guys you're still fun and can sink the last cup of pong!

Look #3 is for my Uptown Girls.  Upper west side Manhattan and likely cruising the city this holiday.  Brunch with your gal pals followed by a roof party or picnic in Central Park.

I'm definitely look #1, secretly dying to be #3 :)
Who are you?
